    • Newspaper Obituary - May 14, 2015 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - WEED - Dorothy M. Weed - May 11, 2015 - Dorothy M. Weed, 94, of Pennellville, passed away May 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Richland, NY, on March 16, 1921, a daughter of Edward and Hattie Bowers Martin. Dorothy married Hollis Laverne Weed on November 5, 1939 at the South Butler Methodist Parsonage Church; he passed away on February 17, 1977. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting, canning, and gardening. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Dean, Rochester, Carol and Richard Knoph, Carmel, IN; one son, Brian and Charlene Weed, Caughdenoy; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dorothy was also predeceased by one son, Glenn 'Woody' Weed. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 under the direction of the Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, NY. Interment: Richland Cemetery, Richland, NY. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 631 South Main Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Central New York, 5005 Campuswood Drive, East Syracuse, NY, 13057.
