Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 13, 1949 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Body of T-5 Glenn E. Weed Being Returned For Burial - The body of T-5 Glenn E. Weed, 355 Engineers Division, will arrive in Richland this afternoon (Thursday) at 4 p.m. by train and will be escorted to the home of his father, Glen D. Weed in Richland by a military escort of the Robert Edwards Post No. 358, American Legion, from Pulaski. Full military rites will be accorded him Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Richland Methodist church with Rev. Robert Rowsam officiating. The remains will then be taken to a final resting place in the Richland cemetery, escorted by color guard, firing squad and bearers, comprised of members of the Pulaski American Legion. Surviving besides his wife, Delores Weed, and his parents are one sister, Mrs. James Kohler, and three brothers, Charles, Hollis and Harland Weed, all of Syracuse, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Priscilla Anson, also of Syracuse. Technician Weed was born in Pulaski, July 24, 1912, and attended Sandy Creek schools. Prior to his induction into service in May, 1943, he was employed in construction work. He received his early training at Cap Belvoir, Virginia, and was given overseas orders in October, 1943. His death occurred in May 30, 1945 while reconstructing the Queen Elizabeth bridge over the Weser river in Nuremburg, Germany. He was buried in Maastrict, Holland, where, like many of our American soldiers, his grave was attended by a family of kindly Dutch people until its removal to the United States.
