Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, May 25, 1991 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Services for Archie L. Whaley, 63, a former Pulaski and Richland resident who died May 22 in Twin Falls, Idaho, will be at 11 am. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 7385 Park Street. A native of Richland, Mr. Whaley lived in the Pulaski area before moving to Twin Falls in 1977. He retired in 1990 as head custodian at Robert Stewart Junior High School in Twin Falls and previously was employed with Fulton Boiler Works. Mr. Whaley was a 1945 graduate of Pulaski High School. Mr. Whaley was a member of the Richland Lions Club and the Good Sam camping club. He also coached youth baseball teams in the Pulaski area. Surviving are his wife, Anita; two sons, William A. of Permellville and John L. of Twin Falls; a daughter, Carolyn Whaley of Syracuse; three brothers, Oscar of Syracuse, Robert of Utica and Dayton of Modesto, California, a sister, Anna Whaley of Syracuse; and three grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Anita; two sons, William A., Pennellville, and John L., Twin Falls; a daughter, Carolyn Whaley, Syracuse; three brothers, Oscar, Syracuse, Robert, Utica, and Dayton, Modesto, Calif.; a sister, Anna Whaley, Syracuse, and three grandsons.
He was born June 27, 1927, in Richland, a son of Harry and Edith Sloper Whaley, and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1945. He married Anita Girton on July 10, 1948, and worked at the Fulton Boiler Works in Pulaski.
He was also self-employed for several years before moving in 1977 to Twin Falls, where he was employed at the Robert Junior High School, retiring as head custodian in 1990.
He was a member of the Richland Lions Club and the Good-Sam Camping Club and had coached various youth league baseball teams in the Pulaski area.
