      Linda M. Vann, 51, of 8664 County Route 78, Rural Hill, died Wednesday evening in the emergency room at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, after being stricken ill at her home. An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be performed today.

      Mrs. Vann was a waitress for several restaurants, had worked at Lally Manufacturing, Adams, was a clothing department manager at the former Fay's Drug Store, Watertown, and most recently had worked for eight years at Tyco Healthcare/Kendall in Watertown, formerly Sherwood Medical Co.

      Born Jan. 10, 1951, in Pulaski, daughter of Arthur and Florence King Nutting, she attended schools in Mexico and Belleville.

      She married Donald J. Vann on Oct. 27, 1965, at the Adams Village Baptist Church. The couple resided on Swan Road, town of Ellisburg, and then at Rural Hill for the past 20 years.

      She enjoyed gardening and flowers and was an avid NASCAR fan.

      Surviving besides her husband are two daughters and a son-in-law, Gail Vann, Henderson, and Nancy and Steven Fowler, Lorraine; two sons and their wives, Donald Jr. and Rene, Adams, and Richard and Betty, Three Mile Bay; her mother, Florence Nutting, Richland; eight sisters, Beverly McNitt, Henderson, Grace Caufield and Betty Jean Nutting, both of Sandy Creek, Joan McNitt, Pulaski, Joyce Widrick, Adams, Mary Jane Nutting, Richland, Barbara Lehtonen, Mexico, and Darlene Denny, Redfield; three brothers, Jerry "Jake" and Ronald Nutting, both of Richland, and Bruce Nutting, Sandy Creek; 10 grandchildren, four half-brothers and eight half-sisters.

      A brother, John Nutting, died before her.

      The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. David Wilson, pastor of Belleville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Belleville.

      Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
