- Newspaper Obituary - March 23, 1994 Watertown Daily Times - ALFRED HOWLETT, 68, NATIVE OF PULASKI, DIES - Alfred H. Howlett, 68, Tully, a native of Pulaski, died Monday at Cortland Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Tully Community Church. Spring burial will be in Tully cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the church. Contributions may be made to Tully Free Library. Arrangements are with Hartwell Funeral Home, Tully. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; four daughters, Allyn Howlett, St. Louis, Mo., Martha Howlett, Homer, Trina Carman, Minoa, and Kerry Walker, Danbury, Conn.; four brothers, Harlan, Red Hook, William, Sonoma., Calif., and Charles and Carl, both of Adams; two sisters, Lois Roberts, Pulaski, and Coral Rinaldo, Oneida; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A native of Pulaski, he had lived in Tully for 40 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired in 1980 after 26 years as an industrial arts teacher at Fabius Central School. Mr. Howlett was a member of Tully United Community Church, the state Retired Teachers Association, Tully Masonic Lodge 896, and Tigris Shrine Temple. He was former president of the Fabius Teachers Association and the Tully Historical Society. He served on the board of directors of the Tully Free Library. Mr. Howlett was a former Tully town trustee and town assessor.

A native of Pulaski, he lived in Tully 40 years and retired in 1980 after 26 years as an industrial arts teacher with Fabius Central School. Mr. Howlett was a member of Tully United Community Church, the New York Retired Teachers Association, Tully Lodge 896, F&AM, and Tigris Shrine Temple. He was a former president of the Fabius Teachers Association and the Tully Historical Society. Mr. Howlett served on the board of directors of the Tully Free Library. He was a former Tully town trustee and a former town assessor. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
