Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 18, 1970 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - L. 0. Burns Dead At 60 ¬Richland - Lyle I. Burns, 60, of 6614 Orwell Street, died Tuesday at Roswell Park Memorial Institute, Buffalo. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, Pulaski, with Rev. Jerry Miller, pastor of the Pulaski Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Surviving are two sons, Richard, Joelton, Tennessee, Michael, Pulaski; seven daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Joyce) Carlton, Watertown; Mrs. Charles (Anna) Johnson, Mrs. Richard (Carol) Kinney, both of Richland; Miss Marie Burns, Miss Patricia Burns, both of Syracuse; Mrs. Clinton (Bette) Woolson and Mrs. Keith (Bonnie) Ridgeway, both of Pulaski; three brothers, Ward, Sandy Pond; Edward, Syracuse; Carl, Elk City, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Glenn (Anna) Adams, Florida; 18 grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Born December 8, 1909 at Pulaski, a son of Matthew and Addie North Burns, he was employed as a carpenter on local construction jobs. His first wife, Ruth Carter Burns, died in November, 1936. His marriage to Kathryn Kling ended in divorce.
