- William G. McLaughlin May 2, 2010 William G. McLaughlin, 61, of Syracuse, died Sunday at the home of his sister in Syracuse after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Fernwood, son of the late George W. and Julia Britton McLaughlin. He was employed by Hawkins Construction and Commercial Trucking of Lincoln Nebraska. He was a member of Local #214, working at Nine Mile Point. Surviving are his wife, the former Kristie Hanson; four daughters, Julie Mills, New Hampshire, Tracy Drew, Indiana, Brandy DiMar, Nebraska, Billie Jo McLaughlin, North Carolina; one son, Lance McLaughlin, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Janet Osuchowski, Syracuse; one special niece, Wendy Osuchowski, Chandler, AZ. He was predeceased by one daughter, Stacy Saunders, 2009; three sisters, Caroline McLaughlin Peters, Sally McLaughlin Blunt, Eleanor McLaughlin. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the South Richland Cemetery with Rev. Tonya Atwood Adams officiating. There are no calling hours.
