- CLARA BELLE1 RICHMOND was born in 1883 New York. She married John Merrfelder circa 1900. She married Daniel D. Whitford, son of Alonzo Whitford and Polly Williams, circa 1906 Jamesville, Onondaga, New York. She married Irving Alonzo Hall, son of Merritt Alonzo Hall and Frances M. Whitford, circa 1910. She married Leon Graves in 1925. She married Edward Cross on 11 Jun 1927 Syracuse, Onondaga, New York; Syracuse Herald, 12 Jun 1927: 'Bride, 42, Marries Sailor, Fourth Husband in 24 Years. Mrs. Clara Graves Wed to Edward Cross, Former United State Navy Man. Four husbands in 24 years is the matrimonial record for Mrs. Clara Whitford Graves, 412 Burnet Avenue who last night became the bride of Edward Cross of Reading, PA. The wedding ceremony was performed last night at 8 o'clock at the parsonage of Wesleyan Methodist Church by the Rev. James B. Knappenberger. Mrs. Jessie M. Cox, a niece of the bride, was her aunt's attendant and Alfred Masiello acted as Mr. Cross' best man. The bride was attired in a gown of blue crepe and her attendant wore a dress of gray silk. Mrs. Cross is 42 years old and her sailor husband is 36. They have been friends for some time and immediately upon his release from the United States Navy, where he served for 11 years, he came to this city to claim his bride. Leon Graves, Mrs. Cross' last husband, was accidentally shot about a year ago at his home, 313 West Belden Avenue, when he was cleaning a rifle in preparation for a hunting trip. They had only been married for five months when the accident occurred which made her a widow for the third time. Mrs. Cross has five children, all living. They are: Fred Mersfelder, a child by her first husband, John Mersfelder, Mrs. William Apperson, Mrs. Harold Davis and Loren and Duane Whitford by her third husband. She has one grandchild, Eleanor Davis, who is five months old. She is a woman of many names. She was christened Clara Thomas, but her parents died when she was a mere child and she was sent to the Onondaga Orphans' Home where she lived until she was adopted by Mrs. and Mrs. George Richmond. She then became Mrs. Fred [sic] Mersfelder. Her second matrimonial venture began when she married John Whitford who was succeeded by Leon Graves, who was accidentally killed. After a ceremony the bride and bridegroom entertained their friends at their new home, 12_0 South State Street. The bride is well known in this city where she belongs to the Mooseheart Legion, Crescent Circle of Foresters Auxiliary, Sniper Camp, Sons of Veterans and Chicago Fraternal Order.' She married William J. Thomas in 1952. She died on 29 Jul 1952 Baldwinsville, Onondaga, New York; Syracuse Herald-Journal, 30 Jul 1952: 'Mrs. Clarabelle Hamilton, 314 Pine St. Services for Mrs. Clarabelle Hamilton, of 314 Pine st., who died yesterday in the home of her son, Fred Mersfelder, 25 E. Oneida st., Baldwinsville, will be at 2 PM Friday at that address. The Rev. Hiram G. Burley will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Survivors are her husband, William J. Hamilton; two other sons, Loren Hall and Duane Hall, both of Syracuse; two daughters, Mrs. Cora Wood of Syracuse and Mrs. Lulu Mosher of Jamesville; five stepchildren; a sister, Mrs. Cora Alison of Florida; several grandchildren.'

i. FRED2 was born on 3 Mar 1904 Syracuse, Onondaga, New York. He died on 19 Jan 1985 Syracuse, Onondaga, New York, at age 80; Syracuse Herald-Journal, 21 Jan 1985: 'Fred Mersfelder. Services for Fred Mersfelder, 80, formerly of 25 E. Oneida St., Baldwinsville, were today (Jan. 21) at Gates Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Mersfelder died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. He was a lifelong Syracuse area resident. Mr. Mersfelder was retired as a machinist with General Motors and was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Katherine Warner of Baldwinsville and Ann Helmer of Petersburg, VA; two stepsons, John and Martin Ryan, both of Baldwinsville; a brother, Loren of Syracuse; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

iii. BEULAH BELL was born in 1916 Onondaga County, New York. She died on 31 Oct 1918 Pompey, Onondaga, New York; Buried in the Merritt and Frances Hall Plot.
4. iv. LOREN ROBERT was born on 19 Aug 1918 Syracuse, Onondaga, New York. He married Yolanda Yetive Squire. He married Josephine Tyminski. He died on 6 Aug 2004 417 Churchill Ave, Syrcause, Onondaga, New York, at age 85.
