- Lawrence H. Peabody Obituary
Lawrence H. Peabody, age 76, a longtime resident of Pulaski, NY passed away on Sunday at Oswego Hospital. Born on April 9, 1948, in Potsdam, Larry was the son of Donald H. and Ruth Day Peabody. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1966. Larry married Mary Ellen Murtha in 1972, and they later divorced. Mary Ellen passed away in 2015. Later in life, he married Joann Loeffert, who preceded him in death in 2002. Larry dedicated ten years at the Central Square School District as a maintenance technician, retiring in 2014. Earlier in his life, he was a proud member of the Teamsters in Syracuse and worked as a truck driver for various companies throughout New York.
In his younger years, Larry enjoyed bowling and playing softball. In later years, he spent summers at Peabody Pond, playing golf, and was known for hosting parties. He was a Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
His loving children survive Larry: Shannon Peabody (Thomas) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; Shane Peabody (Rochelle) of Mexico, NY; Amy Dobrzynski (Mark) and Kaitlin Peabody (Nick) of Pulaski, NY. He was a proud grandfather to Elliott, Mary Eleanor, David, and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Toomey (John) of Richland, NY.
Calling hours will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following at 2PM on Monday, December 16, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, NY. A spring burial will take place in Pulaski Cemetery.
