- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, January 5, 1998 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Eldora C. Caufield Walker, 73, formerly of the Sandy Creek-Pulaski area, died Saturday at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. She owned and operated the Sandy Creek Liquor Store until 1982, when she moved to Florida. Her first husband, Rod Caufield, died in 1966. Her second husband, James Walker, died in 1989. Surviving are two sons, Dennis A. Caufield of Houston, Texas, and Kim D. Caufield of Pulaski; three daughters, Peggy S. Johnson of Buffalo, Minnesota, Julie A. Hanscome of Kersey, Colorado, and Christine Dunning of Denver, Colorado; a step-daughter, Lynne Walker of Denver, Colorado; two step-sons, James Walker of Manitou Springs, Colorado, and Douglas Walker of Vail, Colorado; two sisters, Florence Brims of Minneota, Minnesota, and Beatrice Silver of Shoreview, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are today in Bonnell Chapel in Greeley, Colorado. Contributions may be made to Ainsworth Memorial Library, Sandy Creek. Foster-flax Funeral Home has local arrangements.
Newspaper Obituary - January 6, 1998 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - ELDORA C. WALKER FORMER LIQUOR STORE OWNER - The funeral for Eldora C. Caufield Walker, 73, formerly of Sandy Creek and Pulaski, was Monday at Bonelle Chapel, Greeley, Colo. The body was cremated. Mrs. Walker, of Bonelle Good Samaritan Adult Center, Greeley, died Saturday at North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley. Local arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. She lived on Bridge Street, Pulaski, from 1945 to 1977, and on Salisbury Street here until retiring to Florida in 1982. She and her second husband owned and operated the Sandy Creek Liquor Store from 1972 until 1982. Born Feb. 17, 1924, at Hazel Run, Minn., a daughter of Harry D. and Beatrice Smith, she graduated from Clarkfield (Minn.) High School. She married Rodney Caufield in October 1944. He died in 1966. She married James L. Walker, a former mayor, village trustee and village justice at Pulaski, in June 1971. Mr. Walker died Oct. 14, 1989. Surviving are two sons, Dennis A. Caufield, Houston, Texas, and Kim D. Caufield, Pulaski; three daughters, Peggy S. Johnson, Buffalo, Minn., Julie A. Hanscome, Kersey, Colo., and Christine Dunning, Denver, Colo; a stepdaughter, Lynne Walker, Denver, Colo.; two stepsons, James Walker Jr., Manitou Springs, Colo., and Douglas Walker, Vail, Colo.; two sisters, Florence Bruns, Minneota, Minn., and Beatrice Silver, Shoreview, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
