Elizabeth Congdon Champney, 94, a longtime resident of Pulaski, died Saturday at the home of her son, Richard K. Champney, Edgewood Resort.
Mrs. Champney was an elementary school teacher for many years.
Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Fargo, N.D., daughter of Leon A. and Mabel Piers Congdon, she graduated from Catonsville (Md.) High School.
She attended William Smith College, Geneva, and Upsala College, East Orange, N.J., and received a teaching degree from Oswego State Teachers College.
She married Kenneth P. Champney on Aug. 5, 1939, in Pulaski. He died before her.
Surviving besides her son are two daughters, Dorothy Champney-Brown, Cicero, and Diane Lyng, Pulaski; a sister, Dorothy Langdon, Liverpool; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Champney was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. She spent her summers at Wau Winet Island.
A memorial service will be at a later date at Pulaski Congregational Church.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Giltz Funeral Home.
