- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 6, 1895 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Albion - Died, Thursday evening, February 21, Eliza, wife of Abram Quackenbush, aged 50 years. She had been in usual health and with her son and wife had spent the evening at Charles Hooper's close by and seemed in the best of spirits. They were returning home and had nearly reached the house when she spoke and said she could not breathe. Her son turned around and took hold of her. She said, "Don't leave me, I am dying," and soon expired. Thus death's messenger has suddenly entered our neighborhood again. Her funeral was largely attended on Sunday at 1 p.m., at Dugway, Rev. Hall officiating. She leaves a kind husband, one son, three sisters and many friends to mourn her loss.
