The funeral for Edith M. Towles, 79, of 230 Frazier Road, will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Terry Plaugher, pastor of First Baptist Church, Fernwood, officiating. Spring burial will be in Orwell Cemetery.
Mrs. Towles died Tuesday morning at her home, where she was under the care of Oswego County Hospice.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born Jan. 21, 1921, in Adams, daughter of Jonas and Marion Rowley Hobbs, she was a 1939 graduate of Adams High School. She married Francis Towles on Sept. 20, 1940, in Adams. The couple had lived in the Pulaski area since 1961.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, F. David, Orwell, and Douglas S., Pulaski; a daughter, Susan Green, Minetto; seven sisters, Eleanor Palmer, Dorothy Susan and Alice Nichols, all of Worth, Lucy Durant, Massena, Ethel Mullin, Adams, and Esther Hanson and Stella Glenister, both of Pulaski; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Homer, Howard and Robert Hobbs, a sister, Elsie Dobbin, two half-sisters, Velma Roberts and Catherine Wolfe, and two half-brothers, Albert and Arthur Hobbs, died before her.

Born in Adams, she graduated from Adams High School in 1939. She lived in the Pulaski area since 1961.
Survivors: Her husband of 59 years, Francis; two sons, F. David of Orwell and Douglas S. of Pulaski; a daughter, Susan Green of Minetto; seven sisters, Eleanor Palmer, Dorothy Sloan and Alice Nichols, all of Worth, Lucy Durant of Massena, Ethel Mullin of Adams, and Esther Hanson and Stella Glenister, both of Pulaski; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Services: 4 p.m. Friday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home. Spring burial, Orwell Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 7885 state Route 289, Belleville.
