    • SWANTON -Norman Richard Bouchard, age 77 years, died Friday morning, March 18, 2016, at his First Street residence. Born in Swanton on Feb. 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Edward and Alice (Paquette) Bouchard. He attended St. Anne’s Academy and was later married to the former Gloria Arruda, who survives him. Norman was a master mechanic operating his own automotive business for many years. He was a lifelong parishioner of The Church of the Nativity-St. Louis Parish and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. In earlier years he also served for a time in the Vermont Army National Guard. In addition to his wife Gloria, Norman leaves five children, Edward Bouchard, Diane Bouchard, Martha and Bill Bonk, Kelly and Rick LaRose and Sally Boyle; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Clifford Bouchard, Clayton and Agnes Bouchard and Raymond and Nancy Bouchard; one sister, Ernestine Bouchard as well as many nieces and nephews. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father Luke P. Austin will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Bouchard family lot in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. Gifts in Norman’s memory may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency - Hospice Program, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans.
