Rudolph G. Gushlaw, 64, of 505 E. Hoard St., retired foreman with the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., died at 7:07 Saturday evening in Mercy Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, with Rev. Winnie Daughen officiating. Burial will be in Adams Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Leona E.; three sons, Cecil J., Pulaski, James D., Watertown, and John J., Adams Center; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Leila Kelso, St. Regis Falls, Clara Gushlaw, Watertown, Mrs. John (Rita) Sherman, Adams, and Mrs. John (Rebecca) Pacific, Clayton, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Herman, died previously.
Born in Scurry on July 1, 1924, a son of John and Lydia Humiston Gushlaw, he was educated in Clayton schools and also served in the Navy during World War II.
He married Leona E. Aznoe May 20, 1946, in Cape Vincent. The couple made their home in Watertown after their marriage.
Mr. Gushlaw worked as a foreman in the gas department of Niagara Mohawk for 31 years, retiring in 1981.
He had been the leader of a local band, Country,'' which later became the Country Sunshine'' band. Mr. Gushlaw was also a member of the Black River Valley Fiddlers and American Legion 588, Brownville.
