    • Newspaper Obituary - November 5, 1993 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - FUNERAL SET SATURDAY FOR ERNEST FONE JR., 48 - The funeral for Ernest F. Fone Jr., 48, Ellis Road, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery. Mr. Fone was was pronounced dead at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, after suffering an epileptic seizure at his home. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Surviving are his father, Ernest Fone, Mannsville; his mother, Mrs. Ward (Eva) Sampson, Mannsville; two sisters, Brenda Mullin, Parish, and Elizabeth Berghorn, South Rutland; three half-sisters, Debra Sampson, Mannsville, Belinda Fone, Watertown, and Connie Fone, California; three half-brothers, Ward Sampson Jr., Mannsville, Randy Fone, Plattsburgh, and Dennis Fone, Adams, and nieces and nephews. Born Jan. 8, 1945, son of Ernest and Eva Stewart Fone, he was a 1965 graduate of Mannsville-Manor Central School. After graduation, he moved to Syracuse, where he was employed by a messenger service for several years. In 1975, Mr. Fone went to work at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse, where he was employed for 16 years. He returned to his home on the Ellis Road in 1991.
