Newspaper Obituary - (date and newspaper unavailable) - George N. Soderlund, 90, of Box Street, Pulaski, died Thursday, August 6 at the Veterans Hospital, Syracuse. He was born April 5, 1891 in Kasmas, Finland, and was the son of Gustaf and Ida Gusvqwa Soderlund. He was educated in Finland and came to the United States in 1912. He was married to Ardena Holley on April 18, 1923. He was employed in various milk plants in Pulaski until 1937, when he became the village's first chief of police. He retired in 1956. He served in World War I with the United States Army for 13 months in France. He was a life member of Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion, Pulaski, and a life member of the Salmon River Barracks, No. 149. He was a retired member of Ringgold Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Ardena Soderlund; a son, George G. Soderlund Jr. of Pulaski; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Astrid) Archer of Pulaski and Mrs. Donald (Junia) Buck of Cleveland, New York; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Junia Bostrom of Kasnas, Finland. Services were held at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions may be made to the Northern Oswego County Ambulance Corps.
