Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 1, 2013 Syracuse Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Anna M. Whaley, age 92, resident of Fulton, passed away Sunday at Oswego Hospital. Anna lived in Fulton since 2001, and had previously lived in Richland and Syracuse. She was born March 1, 1921 in Richland. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1940. Anna was employed by Prestolite in Syracuse for 34 years, retiring in 1980. She was an avid bowler, and she bowled in several leagues in Syracuse. Anna also appeared on the television show Bowing for Dollars. Surviving one son, Lawrence Whaley of Fulton, four grandchildren, Lone E. Guernesy of Mexico, Tern Ackerman of Canni, Illinois, James Whaley of Fulton, and Christopher Whaley of Baldwinsville, and several great and great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral. Donations in Anna's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, East Syracuse, New York 13057.
