      Robert H. Whaley, 82, died Sunday.

      He was born in Richland.

      Mr. Whaley was employed with Bendix Aviation, retiring in 1979.

      His first wife, the former Ada L. Carpenter, died in 1962. His second wife, the former Mary Gilbert, died in 1986.

      Surviving are six daughters, Helen Fountain and Mary E. Whaley, both of Utica, Gail Coons of Schenectady, Barbara Baker of Syracuse, Jean Newberry of Ballston Spa and Cathryn Groulx of Herkimer; a son, Donald of Pennsylvania; a sister, Anna Whaley of Syracuse; a brother, Oscar of Syracuse; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

      Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Hill Cemetery.

      Nunn & McGrath Funeral Home, Utica, has arrangements.
