- June 9, 1897 ~ Almina S. Maltby, age 76 years, 11 months, Married, Housekeeper, born in Ellisburg, New York, Daughter of Aaron Alexander born in Vermont and Elizabeth Jones born in Herkimer County, New York, died in Pulaski of old age.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 16, 1897 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - On the 9th of June, Mrs. Almina Maltby entered into rest. She was born July 9, 1820, and as Almina Alexander, the early part of her life passed in Woodville, Jefferson County. On October 1, 1840, she was married to Hiram Maltby, of Pulaski, and took up her residence about one mile North of this village, where she lived until the spring of 1885, when she removed to the residence on Broad street, which has since been her home. Activity, energy and faithfulness have been very prominent traits of her character and her life was spent in unselfish devotion to her family and friends. Being a persistent reader, she was always well-informed in regard to all topics of the day, of the history and politics of foreign countries as well as of her own. For a number of years Mrs. Maltby has been nearly blind but she bore this trouble bravely. For several years past her husband has been an invalid and her life was devoted to his care. She is survived by her husband and four children: Mrs. S. P. Davis, of Williamstown; Mr. U. Z. Maltby, of Oswego; Mr. A. A. Maltby and Mrs. Jessie Greene, of Pulaski.
