Death of Mrs. Hugunin
For Many Years Lived In Oswego, Her Husband Being the Late Colonel Hugunin.
Syracuse, March 17. - Mrs. Hulda McChesney Hugunin, widow of Colonel George W Hugunin, died Saturday at the home of her son, Weldon Hugunin, No. 62 Belden avenue. She was sixty eight years old, and had been an invalid for about a year. She was born at Pulaski, Oswego county, and for a number of years lived in Oswego. Colonel Hugunin, her husband, who died nine years ago, was Lieut. Colonel of the 147th Regiment, New York Volunteers, and was wounded at the battle of Weldon Bridge. He was Postmaster at Oswego for four years. He was a member of the First Reformed church.
Mrs. Hugunin is survived by two sons, Henry and Weldon Hugunin of this city, also two brothers and one sister, George H. McChesney, of this city, William M. McChesney of Oswego, and Mrs. J. Goodfellow, of Clinton.
The funeral was held from her late home today, the Rev. Phillip H. Cole, officiating. The remains will be taken to Oswego for burial in Riverside.
