- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, December 9, 1886 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In Watertown, December _, 1886, Ida Josephine Maltby, aged 1_ years. The deceased was a daughter of John Maltby, formally of this village. She spent several weeks in Pulaski last summer, and made many friends here. The Watertown Times of Monday says: "Up to a week ago the deceased had attended her class in the eleventh grade at the high school. She complained of being ill one day last week, but it was not until this morning that her condition had become alarming, as the fatal termination was never expected. While at school, the deceased was considered the most brilliant scholar of her class and was particularly a favorite among her classmates. She was possessed of many noble qualities that endeared her to all her acquaintances. Charming in her appearance, and especially pleasing and social in her manners, the news of her death will be received with profound sorrow by her friends. The afflicted family have the fullest sympathy in their bereavement."
