Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 5, 1888 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In Pulaski, New York, January 1, 1888, Flora M., only child of Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Maltby, aged 23 years. For months the deceased had been in declining health, and yet while torturing uncertainty rested upon the hearts of her parents and friends the star of hope was present to cheer and encourage. For this reason when the time for her departure came, it was a sad, severe shock to all. Flora Maltby was a young lady of most excellent and genial disposition and her list of warm admiring friends embraced all her acquaintances. A native of Pulaski, where she has always resided, Miss Maltby was thoroughly well known and her record as a child, and as a young lady, at school, in society, at home, in her church relations, and everywhere, was such as to leave behind a sweet and over tender memory. She was a talented musician, and possessed a contralto voice of rare richness and power. She had from her youth been a faithful, consistent member of the Pulaski Congregational Church, and for many years she had been a member and organist of the choir in that church. A lovely Christian girl has gone out into the great Eternity of God. She will be missed on earth and warmly welcomed to the grandeur and holy joys of Heaven. The funeral will be held on Lake Street, from the residence of the parents of the deceased, at 2 o’clock to-day, Wednesday.
