- Newspaper Obituary - February 11, 2012 Watertown Daily Times - Vernon A. Towsley, 81, Lee Center, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at St.Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, NY. Born September 27, 1930 in Albion, NY he was a son of Avery and Fannie Richardson Towsley. Vernon served honorably in the US Army and saw combat with the 29th infantry during the Korean conflict. On February 15, 1970 he was united in marriage to Judith Vosburgh in Pulaski, NY. He worked for many years for several area dairy farms. Vernon is survived by his wife Judith, two sons Timothy (Rebecca) Towsley, Watertown, Joseph Towsley, Lee Center, three step sons, Sheldon Cole, Watertown, Peter Cole, Tully, Daniel Cole, FL, a step daughter, Bambi Paul, GA, sister, Gladys Thomas, Sackets Harbor, four grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Services will be private, interment in North Watertown Cemetery. No calling hours. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
