- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 1, 1883 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In Richland, New York, January 29, 1883, Sarah A., youngest daughter of R. D. Ehle, aged 9 years, 8 months and 29 days. Darling Satie, thou has't gone, Thy departure thou has taken, And we now are left alone; Our hearts are almost breaking. We shall miss you, Satie dear, In the brightness of the morning, In the noontime, bright and clear, And in the twilight's gleaming. We shall miss your pleasant face, And the music of your singing, Your form of beauty and grace and childish prattle ringing. There's a shadow o'er our home, There's an angel more in heaven. We will journey on alone, You are safe in Jesus' bosom. We will lay you in the tomb, While our eyes the tears are blinding; the gleam of joy lights up the gloom, We shall know you in the morning. So now, good-bye, oh, Satie, dear! Under the rod we now are bowing. We nevermore shall see you here, But we never shall forget our darling.
