    • Newspaper Obituary - July 6, 2006 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - SMITH - Glen D. Smith July 4, 2006 - Glen D. Smith, age 44, of Cty. Rte. 22, and life resident of Orwell died July 4 at his home. Born on December 9, 1961, in Oswego, he was the son of Charles and Shirley Potter Smith. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1980. Glen married Sue Smith on November 27, 2005. He was employed by Oswego County Building & Grounds for 22 years, last serving as Deputy Superintendent. He also owned and operated the Hotel Martin, Inc. in Sandy Creek for the past 10 years. Glen was a member and present chief for the Orwell Fire Dept. and also held the offices of secretary and assistant chief, being a member since 1995. He was a member of the Republican Committee for the Town of Orwell, AHAA of Sandy Creek, a member of the Cold Springs Golf Club of Mannsville, and an avid sportsman. He also played guitar for the bands Triple Play and later, Meltdown. Survivors: his wife, Sue M.; two sons, Raymond J. Brown of Fredericksburg, VA, Brian E. Brown of Sandy Creek; one daughter, Tina M Levin of Nashua, NH; two brothers, Ronald Smith of Orwell, Mark Smith of Scriba; three sisters, Suzanne Smith, Diane Smith, both of Orwell, Joan Waite of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Vorea Community Church, Orwell, with Pastor Brian Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. Donations may be made to Orwell Fire Dept., PO Box 192, Orwell, 13426.
