      John L. Muckey, 77, of 241 Rathburn Road died Sunday at his home after a long illness.
      He was a native and life resident of the Granby-Fulton area.
      Mr. Muckey retired in 1982 as a machinist from the former Ross Manufacturing Co. in Fulton, where he had worked 40 years.
      He was an Army veteran of World War II and a former member of the Granby Volunteer Fire Department.
      Surviving are his wife, Evelyn L.; four sons, Donald, Loren and Ian, all of Granby and Markus of Altmar; three daughters, Cheryl Teeple and Gail Muckey, both of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Lorraine Ukleya of Hannibal; three sisters, Louise Sanford of Maine, Kay Smith of Canastota and Jane Nodine of Central Square; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
      Services are 11 a.m. today at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, the Rev. Deborah O'Connor-Slater officiating. Burial is in Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal.
      A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, 910 Fay St.
      Contributions may be made to the Cody Volunteer Fire Department.
