- May 13, 1889 Julia V. Doane, age 77 years, Widow, died in Richland Township of a tumor in the stomach.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 16, 1889 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In this village, May 13th, 1889, after a lingering illness of several weeks, Julia, wife of Ira Doane, aged 77 years. Mrs. Doane has been lying almost at the point of death for six weeks, her power of endurance being almost marvelous. Her father's name was Col. Wm. Vorce, one of the first settlers in this town. A brother, Abner Vorce, still lives at Port Ontario, near Pulaski. She had been happily married to Mr. Doane for thirty-five years, all of which time was passed in this village. She had been a member of the Pulaski Baptist church for nearly fifty years. The funeral was held from her late residence on Tuesday at 4 p.m., Rev. D. D. Owens conducting the services.
