Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, November 30, 1871 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - At Richland, October 31st, of consumption, Mrs. Sally, wife of Levi Upton, aged 32. Faithful in the varied relation of life and in the important duties of the religion she professed, after a long and distressing illness. She passed peacefully away to the paradise above. She leaves a companion, two children and a number of relatives to mourn her loss. In her death, her companion has lost a kind and affectionate wife and a pleasant companion. Bereaved companion, we truly sympathize with you in your affliction. To the rest of the bereaved friends, we would say weep not for the dead, but heed that gentle voice, which so sweetly calls you to be ready for that change, which soon awaits you. Calmly she sleeps, no tearful grief can break that last repose. The aching heart has found relief from its fierce throng of woes. Clasped in the snow white hand of death, shedding their rich perfume, a few sweet flowers lend their breath and cheer the darkened tomb. Yet all has passed, the strife is over, the soul has gained release; and sweetly smiles the silent lips as if she sleeps in peace.
