Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 28, 1931 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Mrs. John Bice passed away Thursday morning, May 21, at her home in North Mexico, after a short illness. Helen Spencer was born June 17, 1868 at Williamstown, New York, the daughter of Edgar Spencer and Elmira Cheevers. At the age of nineteen she came to this vicinity to live. While here she met and married Charles Flemings April 1, 1888. Two children were born to this union, but both died in infancy. Mr. Flemings died February 12, 1913. Later, on March 24, 1921 she married John Bice who survives her. She is also survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. George Marsden, Jr., and Mrs. Lawrence Brockway, and four grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home, Rev. B. L. _ of Mexico officiating. Interment was at Daysville cemetery
