    • August 17, 1887 Mrs. Tombs, age 71 years, Widow, died in Richland Township of Rheumatism.

      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 25, 1887 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died in this village, August 17, 1887, at the residence of her son-in-law, F. M. Bentley, Lois D., relict of the late George W. Tombs, aged 71 years. Mrs. Tombs was a native of this village and has always resided here. She was daughter of Simeon and Joan Doane, who were among the earliest settlers. Three sisters survive her, Mrs. A. H. Maltby and Mrs. R. D. Gillespie of this village and Mrs. S. M. Tucker, of Oswego. Only one child survives her, Mrs. F. M. Bentley. The deceased was a highly respected member of the Congregational Church. The funeral was held on Friday last, Rev. Mr. Douglas officiating
