- January 9, 1897 ~ Lyman S. Doane [Tucker], age 16 years, 9 months, Single, Farmer, born in Oswego, New York, Son of Sidney Doane [Tucker] and Ella Maltby [Doane], died in Richland Township of pneumonia.
Newspaper Obituary - Monday, January 11, 1897 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski, January 11 - On Saturday morning occurred the death of Lyman, son of Ella Maltby and Sidney Tucker Doane, aged 16 years. He was only ill for about five days with typhoid pneumonia, and the news of his sudden death was a shock to the entire community, who sympathize most deeply with the afflicted parents in the loss of their only child. Lyman will be greatly missed in the division Sons of Temperance of which he was a member and in the Citizens' band where he played the bass drum. The funeral will take place at one o'clock on Tuesday at the family residence.
