- Leland F. Joyner, 89, of 6255 Route 11, died Monday at his home. Mr. Joyner was employed by Corse Press and Nestle, Fulton, and was a custodian at Sandy Creek Central School, retiring in 1980. Born Aug. 11, 1917, in Watertown, son of Samuel L. and Ada Schorge Joyner, he attended Sandy Creek High School. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He married Irene Margaret Cummings on July 8, 1950, at Pulaski. Mr. Joyner was a charter member of Cable Trail Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8534, Lacona. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and their husbands, Mary Anne and James Crast, Sandy Creek, and Linda and Richard Booth, Marion; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Edith, Sandy Creek, Robert, House Springs, Mo., Edward, Raleigh, N.C., and Michael and Tracy, Central Square, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters died before him. A spring graveside service will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
