She had been ill for three weeks as the result of a heart ailment and confined to bed but was believed to be improving and seemed as usual when members of the family left her room shortly after 6 p.m. Returning a few minutes later, they found her dead. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves five young children, LeRoy, Elwin, Susan, Danny and Gary. The funeral was held at the home Thursday at 3 o'clock, Rev. James Pauley, pastor of Pulaski Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Willis cemetery. The number of floral offerings and the presence of the many people who attended the funeral and who visited the home prior to the service indicated the affection which her friends had for Belva, who had a friendly and happy personality which endeared her to a wide circle beyond her family.
