Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 26, 1900 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Sidney T. Doane, youngest son of Bernice L. and Irene Lyman Doane, born December 9, 1848, died December 19, 1900. He was born in Pulaski and spent the greater part of his life here; lived in Oswego during the two terms his father was county clerk and later in life was for ten years in the machine shop of Mr. Kingsford and a member of his band. He was a member of some band nearly all his life from his boyhood. He became a mason as soon as he was of age. October 1st, 1873 he was married to Miss Ella Maltby, of Pulaski. Their oldest son, Bernice, died in early childhood and his second son, and only remaining child, Lyman, died January 9, 1897. He was the last member of his father's family, his only brother, Fred, having died in January 1897, and his father, mother and two sisters (Mrs. Smith Salisbury and Mrs. Fitch), several years before. After serving in several minor offices in the Masonic Lodge, he was elected Senior Warden, which office he held when he removed to Oswego. He was for many years a member of the fire company. His death was caused by enlargement of the heart. The funeral was largely attended at the late residence, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. J . B. Felt officiated and Pulaski Lodge, F. & A. M., conducted the Masonic burial service. A large number of masons and firemen were present.
