Melvin Haynes, 69, of 212 S. Second St. was pronounced dead on arrival last Sunday at Lee Memorial Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he resided here most of his life. Mr. Haynes retired in 1970 after 31 years with the local Armstrong Cork Co.
Surviving are his wife, Eveline; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred Ashby of Phoenix; two sons, Melvin of Oswego and Joseph of San Pedro, Calif.; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and five sisters, Mrs. Treva Crouch of Fulton, Mrs. Emma Tucker of Oswego. Mrs. Doris Smalt of Waterloo, and Mrs. Essie Forbes and Ida Kerfine. both of Fulton. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Young and Son Funeral Home with the Rev Richard Northrop officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt.
Adnah Cemetery
