- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, February 20, 1950 - Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mrs. George Towsley - Mrs. Melinda Green Towsley, widow of George Towsley of Scriba, died late Saturday at the home of her son, Earl Towsley, 61 East Ninth street, after a long illness. Born in Scriba, a daughter of Albert and Fanny Gorslin Green, she had lived in this section most of her life. Surviving are two sons, Earl Towsley, Oswego, and John Towsley, New Haven; a daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Baker, South Scriba; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lois Tooker, Onieda, a step-son, Ernest Towsley, Oneida, 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral will be held at the home of her son, 61 East Ninth street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Fred Thayer, pastor of New Haven Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in Dugway cemetery.
