    • ETHEL M. PETRIE, EX-COLLEGE EMPLOYE, DIES

      Ethel M. Petrie, 82, of 42 Church St., Cortland, died Saturday at Cortland Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster-Fax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St., with the Rev. Michael Moshkowski officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She is survived by two sons, Donald, Pulaski, and John, Cortland, and three daughters, Betty Paro, Cortland, Louella Well, Mont Bellview, Texas, and Ruthann LaMartina, Macedon. Born in Kasoag on May 10, 1907, daughter of Sprague and May Wheeler Pettis, she attended Kasoag schools, and lived in Watertown for several years, moving to Cortland in 1972. A marriage ended in divorce. Mrs. Petrie was employed by Cortland State University College for several years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Cortland Assembly of God Church, and a musician in the Cortland area.
