    • Newspaper Obituary - Monday, May 15, 1944 Utica Daily Press - Utica, New York - Mrs. Julia M. Nicholas - Chadwicks - Mrs. Julia M. Nicholas, 77, wife of the late Dan Nicholas, died May 14, 1914, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Kilbourn. She had been in ill health for some time but was seriously ill for the last month. She was born in April 18, 1867, in Jerusalem Hill, Town of Litchfield, daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Kinsman Mathews. On Dec. 19, 1886, she married Mr. Nicholas, who died several years ago. She attended local schools and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Jerusalem Hill. Surviving are four sons, Milon, Mohawk; Wallace, Frankfort, Elmer, Marcy, and Kenneth, Clark Mills; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Groff and Mrs. William Killbourn, Chadwicks; 21 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and a brother, Milon Mathews, Packwaukee, Wis. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Killbourn, with interment in Kinny's Cemetery Crane's Corners.
