  • Notes
    • August 11, 1895 ~ Kate Belle Mathewson, age 44 years, 4 months, 26 days, Married, born in Richland Township, Daughter of David and Adelia Flemings, died in Richland Township of chronic spinal meningitis, duration 1 year.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 14, 1895 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Port Ontario - A great deal of sadness comes over the writer as we think of the recent death of our esteemed friend, Mrs. John Matthewson, of Daysville. The many near relatives have our sympathy.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 21, 1895 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Daysville - On Tuesday last, at her late residence in this place, were held the funeral services of Mrs. Kate Fleming-Mathewson, wife of Mr. John Mathewson, and youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Fleming, aged 40 years. She had lived all her life here, and the large attendance at the funeral and the profusion of elaborate and beautiful floral offerings went to prove how much she was beloved. Her name and memory will linger lovingly in the hearts of her friends for many years to come, but it is on the grief stricken husband and son that the blow falls heaviest. We feel too sad to try to write more than a few lines, and will close by quoting the words which are written in her graceful handwriting in my autograph album: "We meet on earth to part again, All earthly ties must sever; In Heaven, O, what a blessed thought! We meet to part, no, never."
