- Newspaper Obituary - January 6, 1988 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - GEORGE WATERS - George A. Waters, 82, 3422 Center St. died Tuesday at Oneida City Hospital. Born in Lowville, Mr. Waters lived 29 years in Durhamville.He was employed at National Casket Co., Oneida. Mr. Waters was a life member of the Durhamville Volunteer Fire Department and the Camden IOOF lodge. He was a trustee of the Maple Lawn Cemetery Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Blanche Spencer; a son, Vernon A. of Durhamville; two daughters, Rena Rossi of Oneida and Frances La Vancher of Deland, Fla.; two sisters, Majell Vrooman of Watertown and Shirley Vrooman of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the cemetery association. Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Oneida, has charge of arrangements.
