- George Chrisman Dies at Age 79
George Isaac Chrisman, 79, died December 16, 1956 at his home on Lake street after an illness of a year.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Weston and Woodard funeral home, with Rev. Leland Webster, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Mr. Chrisman was born April 19, l877 at Sandy Creek, son of Isaac and Esther Sturdevant Chrisman. He attended the Scripture district school. He was a carpenter by trade. He married Cora Dana of Sandy Creek on September 26, 1914 at Pulaski.
She survives; also a daughter, Mrs. Rita Burdick and a son, Gerald Chrisman of Fulton; a stepson, LeRoy Coffie, Lacona; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ethel Buck of Pulaski; three sisters, Mrs. Marcia Smith, Mrs. George (Pearl) Slater and Mrs. Ben (Ida) Thornber, all of Sandy Creek; 15 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. A son, Harwood, drowned in an automobile accident on the Lacona-Orwell road in December 1934 at the age of 17.
