- Margaret Almeda Wurster, age 91, resident of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday at Oswego Hospital. She had resided in Pulaski since 1972 and had previously lived in Mattydale and Elmira. Margaret was born April 29, 1921, in Castena, PA, the daughter of Guy and Julia Thornton. She graduated from Lock Haven High School in Lock Haven, PA in 1939. Margaret married George L. Wurster Sr. on October 9, 1940; he passed away November 27, 1986. She was a former owner of the Pulaski Silver Start Market from 1972 until 1996. Margaret was a member of the Pulaski Park United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary #7289 in Pulaski, Bridge Club and Pulaski Women's Bowling League. Margaret was truly a beautiful person. She loved spending time with her family, and she will be missed by all. Surviving: three sons, George L. Wurster Jr. of Sandy Pond, Gary E. (Barbara) Wurster of East Syracuse, John F. (Suzanne) Wurster of Sun City, AZ; two sisters, Doris Thurson of Lock Haven, PA and Helen Emmett of Pulaski; two brothers, Ron Thornton of Lock Haven, PA and David Thornton of Michigan; one sister-in-law, Jan Thornton of Lock Haven, PA; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by one brother Guy Thornton Jr. and two sisters Florence Gardner and Gloria Thornton. Funeral Services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with a Spring burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. prior to the funeral. Donations may be made in Margaret's honor to the Pulaski Park United Methodist Church, 2 Hubble Street, Pulaski, NY 13142.
