    • Minnie is still recalled as a fascinating and charismatic lady. She had gone west at an early age with her brother Edward, met and married there, and for the rest of her life remained a widow. She had a pension from her husband's war service, and this enabled her to have some means. It is recalled she returned home from South Dakota to New York on a train "carrying a bird cage". She settled back in Redfield and also acquired a place at Black Lake, near the Morristown family.
      Minnie is fondly recalled by many, many Neice and nephews still. She was generous to a fault, and left small amounts of money in her will to many of her extended family.
