Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 18, 1963 The Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Last Rites For George Gibbs - Last rites for George Gibbs, 79, a former resident of Sidney, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald W. Jones, pastor of the Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in South Richland Cemetery. Mr. Gibbs died Saturday afternoon at the Evergreen Nursing Home where he had been a patient three weeks. Previously he had resided at Maple Manor Rest Home for five years. He is survived by a brother, Frank Gibbs of Pulaski and several nieces and nephews. His wife, the former Fannie More died several years ago. Mr. Gibbs was born in Michigan, June 6, 1884, the son of George and Sarah Nichols Gibbs. He came to New York state with his parents when a child and had owned and operated a farm in Delaware County as long as his health permitted.
