Dwight H. Emmons - HINESVILLE - Dwight H. Emmons, 58, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Liberty Regional Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident in Hinesville. He was a native of New York and lived the past 1-1/2 years in Hinesville. He served in the U.S. Marines in Viet Nam and a member of D.A.V. and the American Legion in Savannah. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. Surviving are his wife Emma Emmons of Hinesville; two sons Dwight H. Emmons, Jr. of Pulaski, NY and James Emmons of Brewerton, NY; one stepson Aaron Vanalstine of Port Charlotte, FL; one stepdaughter Donna Vanalstine of Geneva, NY; his father Marvin Emmons of Hinesville; two brothers Marvin Emmons of Virginia and Steven Emmons of Allenhurst; one sister Nancy Longbreak of Missouri; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1-2:30 pm Friday, October 5, 2007 with a memorial service at 2:30 pm at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel officiated by Rev. Buddy Wasson.
