Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, May 21, 1964 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Former Clerk Dies in Orwell - William J. Aloan, 71, died at his home Monday afternoon, May 18, 1964 after suffering a heart attack. His funeral will be held this afternoon at Orwell Union Church, the Rev. Robert C. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Aloan was a resident of Redfield until moving to Orwell 12 years ago. He was supervisor for the Town of Redfield for about 10 years and ran a garage there. He served as clerk of the Oswego County Board of Supervisors for 21 years, retiring in 1962. Mrs. Aloan, the former Miss Ruby Clemens of Redfield, died October 26, 1962. A daughter, Mrs. Cedric Yerdon of Janesville, and a grandson survive Mr. Aloan. He was a member of Orwell Union Church, Orwell and was a member of Pulaski Lodge 415, F.&A.M., the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge.
