    • Evelyn was the last child to remain at her fathers home. In 1940 she married Vernon Randall with the plan that they would purchase the Ballou family home. On April 14, 1941 the house went up in flames and the land reverted back to the power company.
      In 1945 Evelyn and Bill parted and she moved in with her sister Yvonne for a time. Later Evelyn married Ira Warren and moved to Oneida, New York where they owned and operated a service station. Evelyn was a well known cook and her table was always full enough for another guest.
      Evelyn worked variously to supplement the family income. Following Ira's death she began work for the Oneida City Police as a crossing guard. She worked nearly 20 years at the Seneca Street School, crossing generations of students. A member of the Oneida Moose Club for many years, Evelyn enjoyed going there on Friday Nights with her family and friends. She had her hair done each Friday afternoon and went to Fish dinners either at the Moose or "5 Corners".
      In her last illness Evelyn moved in with daughter Mary Lou. It was their that she died in June 1993. She was laid to rest with Ira in Glenwood Cemetery south of the Oneida city limits.
