- She was born March 3, 1928 in the Town of Fenner, a daughter of Harry and Katie Burelson Thurston and attended Stockbridge schools.
Laura's passion was cooking and she had been a cook at Sautter's Diner in Morrisville for many years. She also enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are her children: Valerie and LaMont Clark of Eaton, Sharon and Richard Weakley of Newport, Andrea and Thomas Kane of Bouckville, Kimberly and Robert Marshall of Palmer, AK, Harry and Teri Beach of Hamilton, Bill and Joyce Beach of Bouckville; a brother and five sisters-in-law, Alvin and Phyllis Thurston of Oneida; Mrs. James (Helen) Thurston of Hubbardsville, Mrs. Hollis (Helen) Thurston of Oneida, Mrs. Carlton (Elizabeth "Betty") Thurston of Morrisville, Mrs. Harry (Evelyn) Thurston of Munnsville; her former husband, William Beach of Brookfield; 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Harry, Hollis, Carlton and James Thurston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rose Davenport, Mae and Joseph Emanuel.
Laura's family wishes to say "Thank You" to Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Alan Calder Wing, the Barton North Unit at St. Luke's Home, Dr. Ortega, Dr. Kachare and their staffs for their kind and compassionate care.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
