- Donna Marie Edmonston, 70, "Memaw" to those that knew her, of Italy, Texas, formerly of White Oak, passed away February 27, 2013, in White Oak, surrounded by her family and friends.
Donna was born September 26, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, to Robert and Marie Edmonston. She and her daughter, Tammy, owned and ran the Donut Palace in White Oak, where she was referred to as the "Donut Lady" or the "Coffee Lady."
After they sold the donut shop, she and Tammy became beach bums, enjoying the beaches along the way and going parasailing and snorkeling in Florida. She was game for almost anything that had to do with a beach. She was a lover of flowers, doing cross stitch, needlepoint and crocheting, but especially going on those vacations with her daughter.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Italy, Texas; daughter, Tammy Munoz and her husband, Samuel Martinez of White Oak; son, John Vickery IV of Harleton; grandchildren, Anthony Munoz and his wife, Jennifer, of Longview, Robbie Munoz and his wife, Deslie, of Arizona, Teshia Trejo and her husband, Miguel, of Gladewater, John M. Mashke of Longview and Claudia Aguilar and her husband, Pedro, of Longview; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Trejo, Araceli Trejo, Rheanna Trejo, Nikki Munoz, Keelin Munoz, Colton Munoz, Jade Munoz, Aspen Buckner, Jasmine Aguilar, Vanessa Aguilar and her twin brother, Donald Edmonston and his wife, Linda, of Baldwinsville, NY.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bobby Edmonston; and one sister, Cheri Compeau.
A service honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home in Longview, Texas. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at noon Saturday at the funeral home.
